Skipton Building Society's services are available to everyone – so we consider it very important our website is fully accessible.
In order to comply with WCAG 1.0 standards, our website has the following features.
Page coding
Our website pages are coded in a structured and logical manner, which makes it easier for screen readers and other alternative browsing devices to interpret the content. We develop the layout of pages in a specific style, using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). This means they remain viewable even if your internet browser does not support our specific style.
Javascript is used to enhance usability, however pages are fully accessible if these technologies are turned off or unsupported.
Images
Where photos, advertising banners and icons are used, descriptive and meaningful text equivalents back them up in case your internet browser does not recognise the images. If you cannot view an image, for any reason, text describing what it is will be visible instead.
Text – both size and colour adjustable
Our website is compatible with most screen readers and adaptable for partially-sighted customers.
All headings are styled with the help of CSS and can be resized to suit your needs.
If you would like to adjust the text size and/or colour, the most common internet browsers have different ways to support you.
